Lost or Damaged Material Replacement

Patrons must replace lost or damaged materials/books at the replacement cost.

MCPL staff members will
determine if a damaged item can be repaired. If a repair can be made, a fee
will be charged for the repair.

If the item cannot be
repaired, full replacement costs will be charged.

In
the case of a lost book/material, a receipt will be issued to the patron, and
may be refunded upon return of the found material/book.

Overdue fines will be removed at the time of payment for a lost book.
If a person loses or damages any items beyond
use, the cardholder will be billed for the current replacement cost of the
item(s). Damaged item account must be settled before cardholder may continue
borrowing privileges. If a cardholder’s record shows overdues $2.00 or above,
the library card cannot be used until the balance is paid.
