The goal of the Anderson Motivational Center is to serve as a
multi-functional center enhancing the services of the Library. It is to be used
for selection of motivational materials, individual study,
and computer use.
Specific Guidelines:
Users must be 18 years old or older. Younger children may request
permission to use the room when accompanied by a parent, guardian, or mentor,
such as a teacher or counselor. Any person accompanying a child and serving in
the above mentioned roles must be at least 21 years old.
Maximum number of users at any one time is limited to 5.
MCPL Internet policy applies to computer use in AMC.
Computer connections are provided for laptop use.
Computer use will be restricted to academic or business research.
The principle use of the AMC is for selection of motivational materials.
When a patron wishes to select a material designated in the OPAC as "AC" -
"Ask at the desk", that patron will be taken to the AMC by a staff member and
allowed
to browse alone at their leisure. The staff member will return to the room
after a reasonable period of time to see if further help is needed and if the
room is being used as intended. When patrons are not using the room, the door
will be
closed.
