Click on "Search MCPL Catalog" at the top of any page to go to Polaris.
Click on "Patron Account" at the top of the Polaris page.

• Barcodes - Your 14 digit patron barcode number is the number on your library card.

• Passwords - See a library staff member if you need to reset a password, or if you have forgotten your password. Your password is the same as your "PIN" number, and based on your birth date. While the library does not maintain a list of patron passwords, a library staff member may be able to override the old password to give you the opportunity to set a new one. (You cannot get an override password from the computer. You must go to the library for assistance in accessing your account.)

1. Click Patron Account on the menu bar to log in.

2. Click "Log In" on the menu bar. The log-in form is displayed.

3. Type your 14 digit barcode number (from your library card) in the Barcode Number box.

4. Type your account password in the Password box. Your default password is your birth month and day as 4 digits. (May 16 = 0516) MCPL also uses this number as your PIN number. If your password/PIN does not work, contact MCPL at 734-3680 to reset.

5. Click Log In to submit the information. Use the menu bar at the top of the page to go to the information you are looking for.

6. Log out by doing one of the following actions:

• If you are viewing your patron account, click the Log Out link on a patron account display, or click Log Out in the Patron Account submenu.

Important:
Logging out protects your privacy. If you are using Polaris PowerPAC or a public computer in the library, be sure to log out.
